My New Bishop

All the student wards in SLC were torn apart and joined with the YSA wards this last month and are all starting at stage 0 together. I showed up my first day in my new ward and was surprised at how enthusiastic and energetic my new bishop was and how I felt like I was a part of a spiritual football team. Before long little things like "when I was speaking in Afghanistan..." or "when I was invited to Japan..." and we all began questioning each other at who this guy was. Then we had ward prayer at his home, which turned out to be enormously huge. We met in his basement which had photos all over the walls of him with somewhat familiar people like George Bush, Mohammed Ali, Shaun Connery, Jay Leno, Larry King, etc., etc. Then there were posters of him carrying the Olympic Torch, him on the cover of People and Time magazines, and him in a Raiders uniform. Who is this guy?!?!
So I googled him and found a lot of stuff:  http://www.danclarkspeak.com/
Bishop Dan Clark. My ward must be in need of some serious help if we're assigned one of the word's top 10 motivational speakers to straighten us out. Right on! He might be almost as good of a bishop as my dad :)

HAP-PY Birthday RORY!!!

The Weinett is now officially 1 year old and still getting longer every day. We're all so proud!

She got more brown and long and neurotic, and I LOVE her so much!

If anyone has the chance to see this guy in concert it's amazing!! It's like Bob Marley and ...Dave Matthews (who I don't like) and someone else that's really really really talented at the guitar all put together. This video doesn't do him justice, you have to see it live. Anyway, I'm a new huge fan!

Hypoallergenic Dogs

Ever since I got my dog, Rory, I have received several comments of others having doomsday pity parties because they are allergic and therefore cannot ever have a dog :( Sad, right? Whatever. There is a solution, and since 80% of my readers (hi guys!) are allergic to dogs, I thought I would do you all a huge favor and give you some options to work with. ....okay, it was a slow work day, but nonetheless- check them out:
The Hypoallergenic Dogs:

 PUREBREDS (run a little pricey)
Okay...so some are the ugliest dogs I've ever seen (esp. the Irish Water Spaniel, which reminds me a little too much of my 2nd grade teacher), but most aren't all that bad. Everyone likes Scottie Dogs, right? The coolest one, I think, is the dreadlocks dog that's like a huge mop with eyes- the Puli Dogs. For a good time, you should google pics of them jumping, it's funny.

For the more price-efficient, (and cuter) I looked up a few mix-breeds. Keep in mind they are not limited in any way to this selection. I mostly looked up a few version of weiner dogs and jack russells (something you can all relate to, lol). So, a few look really screwed up, but others are pretty cute.
MIX BREEDS

I think the labradoodle is the cutest one, personally, and I don't know about that walrus of a thing that's supposed to be a schnauzer-dachshund mix. Gross.

13-year old Talent

I was going through some of my old stuff from middle school to make myself more grateful about how I never have to go through that time in my life again. And I found these old cartoon blocks that I made in seventh-grade on our home computer using window's paint. I used to really want to be a cartoonist until I learned that the majority of them end up homeless, so I took up art instead, go figure -I don't know. More artist are homeless than cartoonists, if they are even different categories. Anyway- having used Windows Paint recently after being used to the Adobe Suite, I have to say- I'm impressed with my 13-year old talent to manipulate that mouse!

Top 10 Things I do on a Slow Work Day

10) Switch back and forth between work email and personal email, desperately hoping for a message of any kind and getting more and more depressed when nothing shows up.
9) Instant-Messaging Rachel with short repeated words at rapid-fire speed so that she will eventually hear her computer beeping as if its about to blow up and answer me.
8) Page the part-timer's office and then hang up on them after they answer, repeatedly.
7) Check every type of account I possibly have online (bank account, phone account, facebook account, rocky mountain power account, etc. etc. etc.)
6) Eat candy out of the bowl that sits directly in front of me, constantly brimming with every kind of candy bar.
5) Check my cell phone for any calls/texts and when there isn't anything, scroll down my list of contacts trying to find anyone I can possibly come up with an excuse to text a message to so that they'll return one to me. Then eat some more candy.
4) Go to the bathroom and take an extra long time washing my hands and fixing my hair and then slowly pulling out sheets of paper towels and letting my hands drip dry over them.
3) Sit in the part-timer's office and ask them how its going but don't respond when they answer so that they'll feel the need to keep explaining themselves.
2) Windex the desk, sanitize the phone and keyboard and mouse while eating more candy.
1) Make a blog post.

The Gallery

Wow, 4 posts in a week! I'm on a serious roll! This is where I work, but someone told me I can't put the name of it because then I'll get all of these crazy stalkers and get murdered or something. Anyway, I love my job! There are 6 of us: 2 owners, me, 2 part-timers, and an intern. I'm supposed to supervise the pt-ers and the intern but in all reality it's a team effort to supervise the owners.

This is a shot of one of the famous dog parties that they have once a month here. My boss love his dogs. Rory got promptly kicked out when she tried to join because she's a mud-blood and "made the others nervous."

Rory (AKA: Rorsworth)

Don't let the big innocent eyes fool you. I've seen this thing rip the eyes out and pop off a head to completely de-gut three stuffed animals within five minutes before. I have/had a new shag rug for my new apartment and within two weeks she dug three big holes into the middle of it. I first super glued the yarn back into place, she dug it up. Then I sewed the yarn onto a separate cloth and super-glued that into place, she dug it up. Then I sewed and super-glued the yarn to leather and nailed it to my wood floor (not the first holes, don't worry), and it didn't even phase her. Eventually I had to cut the rug in half and stack it. Since she has an unparalleled fear of hard floors she lost a lot of moving space and I think finally learned the lesson. No holes have been dug in the rug since.
Anyway, despite her terrorism, she is a complete angel and can always make me laugh. She's absolutely hilarious, and I'm so grateful for her fabulous spirit.

Last year's New Year's family newsletter. My family rocks. What a bunch of weirdos.

Lashes

This is the final project for that 3D Design class that people keep asking to see.
Confused? Me too. Artists are crazy, what can I say? At least they keep life colorful, ...or at least interesting if not that.
